We are seeking a highly motivated individual to assist in the development of sweat biosensors by performing a variety of advanced statistical and technical activities required for the design, analysis, and interpretation of scientific, software, and clinical data. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary R&D team for our flexible Sweatronics® platform.
Position: Full-time. Reports to Lead Research Scientist
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
Collaborate with a diverse set of scientists from molecular biology, chemistry, engineering, software development, and clinical backgrounds to generate impactful analyses to support existing and identify new diagnostic opportunities.
Analyze complex data from pre-clinical models and clinical samples to support novel target identification, prioritization, and validation in different physiological/disease states.
Build and maintain world-class bioinformatics capabilities (genomic and lab technologies, analytics methodology, software and pipelines) to support projects including electronic aptamer-based sensors, early target discovery, biomarker identification and validation, and clinical trial applications.
Use statistical and machine learning methods to aid in aptamer selection and identify prognostic and predictive biomarker signatures from high dimensional biological data (Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) datasets).
Evaluate and develop novel approaches for data analysis.
Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing information and trends.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
M.S. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent with > 1 year experience. PhD also considered.
Strong background in statistics with expertise in programming languages (R, python, MatLab, C++, Java, etc.).
Statistical analysis experience with working knowledge of regression analysis, multivariate data analysis, and linear/nonlinear mixed effects modeling is preferred.
Strong data processing skills with a desire to solve complex problems and explore new techniques.
Experience with statistical modeling, algorithm development, or machine learning preferred.
Excellent focus and management of tasks from multiple concurrent projects.
Experience in next generation sequencing (NGS) analyses of DNA a plus.
Excellent collaboration skills and ability to communicate effectively with experimental scientists.
Must be a self-motivated individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills is a must.
