This role serves as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary research and development team, performing various bench-top experiments to enable the development of our state-of-the-art Sweatronics® platform. Specifically, the Scientist:
Understands the fundamental scientific principles of the field and a given experimental design.
Executes multiple, complex routine experiments and other development-related projects concurrently and may utilize new equipment and/or develop formulas, processes, and methods to aid in solving technical problems.
Regularly confer with the technical lead research scientist(s) to provide updates on the status of project/s they own and execute.
Utilizes established mathematical and scientific techniques to efficiently compile, analyze, summarize, and report large sets of experimental data.
Writes technical reports and presentations detailing experimental procedures, observations, key findings and communicates these results to the technical lead in a timely manner.
Participates and contributes in research and development activities by accomplishing specific results and goals included on project plan.
Collaborates and presents findings to a team of scientists and engineers to and supports integration of findings to next stage of project.
Seeking candidates with B.S. or B.A. in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related field. Previous related wet laboratory experience, performing experiments independently is required.
This individual will led engineering projects on a rapidly-evolving series of prototypes for wearable sweat-sensing devices. Specifically you will be:
Developing and supporting engineering related projects to facilitate the technology and product development process.
Designing and carrying-out hypothesis driven experiments, understanding both theoretical and practical aspects of the experimental design.
Translating functional needs into specifications.
Leading the design and selection of hardware and/or software to improve the functionality of the wearable device.
Collaborating with a team of scientists and engineers to integrate various components and systems into a device for medicine, industry, and sport.
Understanding the state of the science in this field.
Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Seeking talent with bachelor’s degree in bioengineering, chemical, electrical, mechanical, materials, or biomedical engineering. Innovative problem-solving capabilities. Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills are required.
