Lead Research Engineer, Sensors

We are seeking a highly-motivated Lead Research Engineer in Biosensor Development.

We are seeking an Engineer to impact our biosensor development efforts by streamlining processes,  assisting with data-driven troubleshooting, and delivering robust, reproducible biosensors. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to drive Eccrine’s technology forward.

Successful candidates will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary product development team for our Sweatronics™ platform.

Position:  Full-time. Reports to VP of R&D

Location:  Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Duties Include:

The following Job Duties are examples of the type of work the individual will do. Specific work plans are tailored around the skills of the individual and current business needs.

  • Leverage engineering work processes to develop and execute data-driven projects to transition proof-of concept electrochemical biosensor research into robust technology needed to deliver prototype devices for medicine, industry, and sport

  • Identify key knowledge gaps, instigate and implement hypothesis-driven experiments in aid of efforts to transition fundamental scientific discoveries into useful products

  • Developing and communicating feasible plans that achieve the goals and objectives of the project and aligns with the organization’s overall strategy; articulate tradeoffs, including system or project-level effects

  • Understanding the state of the science in this field

  • Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or other related engineering or science (Chemistry, Electrochemistry) field with a proven track record for successful delivery of challenging R&D efforts

  • Experience in leading a multidisciplinary team to achieve technical goals; 1-3 years minimum project management/leadership experience

  • Experience developing a detailed integrated program plan, managing timelines, and making decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience analyzing and visualizing experimental data (MATLAB preferred)

  • Strong interpersonal skills including a proven track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external partners

  • Enthusiasm and vision about converting cutting-edge science into commercial applications
